In this course, we will work on organizational design that fosters creativity and innovation. Organizational Design that leads to happier employees, that lead to happier clients, that lead to happier you. Process – how do Agile ways of work (like Scrum or Kanban) impact the results you get. Structure – how can organizational structure be instrumental in achieving overall business agility. Culture – what is Agile culture and how it relates to your organization.

Course Structure: 

Lesson 1 – Introduction to Agile and Scrum
HOW we work defines WHAT we get in result.
Introduction to Agile mindset and culture and Scrum, as the most popular agile method of work.

Topics: Traditional management, Agile approach, Scrum
Methodology: 70% theory, groupwork, visual facilitation
Learning outcomes:
Understand why Agile emerged in modern world and how it affects the way things work inside organizations
Learn Scrum and how it addresses challenges related to product innovation, work efficiency and management of creative workforce

Lesson 2 – Agile roles: optimized for creativity and innovation
Why Agile introduces two new roles instead of regular manager? How these new roles (Product Owner and ScrumMaster) work with the team to maximize both business value and team engagement?

Topics: Agile teams, Product Owner, Scrum Master
Methodology: group work, cases, 30% theory
Learning outcomes:
Understand fundamental difference between Agile roles and their responsibilities
Learn how to maximize potential of creative workers within organization
Ability to improve working process by introducing clarity of responsibilities among roles

Lesson 3 – Organizational design: optimized for what?
Organizational structure is not just an image on your corporate intranet. Organization structure defines the speed of decision making, quality of these decisions, and quality of execution. We will look closely at different ways of how the organizational structure can be designed, to serve different business purposes.

Methodology: Org design game, cases, 50% theory

Understand the connection between working process, organizational structure and corporate culture.
Understand the importance of continuous optimization of organizational design

Lesson 4 – Organizational culture and leadership
Let’s explore how organizational culture affects the way people work and what can you as a  leader do to make cultural shifts for the benefit of the business and the people.

Topics: Leadership Agility, Schneider’s 4 types of Organizational Cultures.
Methodology: Test, group work, visual facilitation, 30% theory
Learning outcomes:
Learn about 3 leadership styles and assess their own style
Learn about 4 types of organizational cultures and assess the dominant type of their corporate culture
Learn how leadership style and a organizational culture affect the emergence of creativity and innovation
Learn what Agile culture really is, and how can they make cultural shifts within their organizations
