Bill Barnett


American organizational theorist, and is the Thomas M. Siebel Professor of Business Leadership, Strategy, and Organizations at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

He is the BP Faculty Fellow in Global Management; Senior Fellow, Woods Institute for the Environment at Stanford; Director of the Center for Global Business and the Economy; Director of the Business Strategies for Environmental Sustainability Executive Program; and Codirector of the Executive Program in Strategy and Organization.

Ben Tiggelaar


Dr. Ben Tiggelaar is one of the best-known management writers and teachers from The Netherlands. His goal: helping people flourish by providing them with practical insights in the field of leadership and change.

Since 2000, eight of Ben’s books have reached the number one position in the Dutch management top 10. His most recent book is called The Ladder. It translates current research on change to applications in work and daily life.

Next to this Ben is a visiting professor at IE Business School, one of the top ranking business schools in Europe, according to Financial Times, The Economist, Forbes and Business Week.

Pedro Nueno


Pedro Nueno is a Technical Architect, Industrial Engineer and Doctor of Business Administration from Harvard University. He is also Professor of Entrepreneurship at IESE and Chengwei Ventures Chair on Entrepreneurship (CEIBS).

He is the founder and Honorary President of the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), leading school of business in Asia, with campuses in Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Accra and Zurich.

He was member of the Visiting Committee of the Harvard Business School for six years (2005-2011). He is in the board of several companies and institutions and during his career he has been in the board of more than 30 companies and institutions in Europe, the USA, Latin America, China and Africa.

Prof. Nueno is also founder of FINAVES, a venture capital corporation associated to the entrepreneurship activity of IESE Alumni that supported the launching of more than 40 companies, creating directly more than 3000 new jobs. His areas of interest include entrepreneurship, starting new ventures, global management, management of technology and innovation.

He authored 22 books translated to several languages about corporate turnaround, innovation and entrepreneurship. He has written more than 100 cases on Entrepreneurship, and published many articles.

He has received many Honors such as the Cross of Saint Jordi (2003), the Outstanding Contribution Award from the Chinese Government (2014), and “Commander by Number or the Order of Queen Elisabeth the Catholic” (2015)

Daniel Medina

Milo Jones


Visiting Professor at IE since 2008. He is the co-author of Constructing Cassandra: Reframing Intelligence Failure at the CIA, 1947-2001, published in 2013 by Stanford University Press. In addition to teaching “Geopolitics” and “Intelligence Tools for the Business Professional” to MBA students, Milo serves on several boards and consults on strategy and the application of intelligence frameworks to business and financial problems. In the past, he has worked for Morgan Stanley Dean Witter in New York, Accenture in London and served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps. Milo is a Fellow of the Salzburg Global Seminar, a member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London, and a member of the Association of Former Intelligence Officers.

Giorgi Kadagidze


Governor of the National Bank of Georgia from February 2009 until February 2016. He has transformed the central bank into one of the most advanced central banks in the region and active player among Banking Supervisors from Central & Eastern Europe as well as Basel Consultative Group.

As the central bank governor Giorgi has introduced advanced risk-based supervisory regime to the Georgian banking sector which among other things includes the BIS Basel II/III framework for capital adequacy. He has successfully implemented inflation targeting regime (from 2010) in Georgia while introducing floating exchange rate policy for GEL (Since the end of 2009). The prudent monetary policy adopted by the National Bank of Georgia under Giorgi’s leadership was fully supported by the international organizations, including IMF, EBRD and the World Bank.

Under Giorgi’s leadership the National Bank of Georgia has won various awards for its IT infrastructure; was named as the Best Public Construction for its cash center in 2013.

In 2014, Giorgi was named the Central Banker of the Year (Europe) by The Banker Magazine.

During his tenure as the central bank governor, Giorgi has advised his peers from Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Ethiopia, Papua New Guinea, Afghanistan, Suriname, Malawi, Zambia, Congo, Tajikistan and Kyrgyz Republic.

Sam Aflaki


Sam Aflaki is an associate professor of operations management in HEC Paris’s department of information systems and operations management and serves as the academic director of the operations module in HEC EMBA program. Sam holds a Ph.D. in management from INSEAD and his current research focuses on sustainable decision making, operations management, and (energy) policies. His research has been published in leading management and economics journals as well as being recognized in a number of INFORMS’ prestigious competitions. Sam currently serves as the French director of “industrial excellence award”, one of the most prestigious operational management competitions for manufacturing and service organizations worldwide. Sam teaches the operations management course in various programs and has served as guest lecturer in many leading management institutions around the world.

Vincenzo Perrone


Tenured full professor in Strategic Management and Organization at Bocconi University, Milan, Italy. From the 1st of November 2008 to October 2012 has acted as Vice-Rector for Research at Bocconi University Milan, Italy.

Chairman of the Institute of Organization and MIS at Bocconi from 2001 to 2007. He has been the Director of the Organization and Human Resource Management Department of SDA, Bocconi University School of Management from 1995 to 2001. He taught at the University of Cassino, Italy for five years (1994-1999). Member of the Editorial Board of Organization Science from 2003 to 2006 and ad hoc reviewer for Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review and Journal of International Business Studies. He has published several books and articles both in Italian and International Journals. He has been the Director of Economia & Management the SDA, Bocconi University, Management Review published by RCS Group. He has won two distinct awards at Bocconi University: one as the “Teacher of the Year” within the MBA Program (for two consecutive years) and the other for “Excellence in Research”.

Joaquim Vilà


Professor of Strategic Management, Innovation and Design Thinking, as well as the Academic Director of IESE’s Executive Education Focused Programs on Innovation Implementation and Design Thinking.

He has worked as a research fellow at the Reginald H. Jones Center for Management Policy, Strategy and Organization of the Wharton School and as a research associate in the Management and Technology Program, also at Wharton.

He serves as an instructor in executive education programs and a consultant on design thinking and innovation capabilities, implementing management innovation, and drivers of sustainable innovative culture, as well as experiential learning in design thinking for creative problem solving and developing innovation capabilities in top leaders and strategic thinking capabilities in middle managers. He provides consulting to more than 50 national and international corporations, including Roche Diagnostics, Amgen, Telefónica, Komatsu, Nutrexpa, Uniland, APLI, Henkel, Nestlé, Premo and Sener. He also serves as innovation director in the board of several Spanish companies.

Prof. Vilà has published in the areas of innovation and design thinking, strategy making, organizational renewal and top-management innovation systems. His current research focuses on: how to improve innovation competencies through strategic thinking, design innovation, and the role of top-management leadership in reinventing and transforming a business, as well as how to nurture a sustainable culture of innovation.

Sergi Kapanadze


Deputy speaker of Georgia’s Parliament. He was also a deputy foreign minister of Georgia. Professor of international relations at the Ilia State University and former professor at the Tbilisi State University.

Beatrice Bauer


Beatrice Bauer is Associate Professor of Practice of the Leadership, Organization and HR Knowledge Group with thirty years’ experience in the design and coordination of business courses for the development of leadership skills functional to the social and organizational changes taking place. In particular, given its multicultural background, she has trained executives in large multinational companies in Italy and abroad.

Teacher in SDA Bocconi since 1988. She has developed training programs on management topics with innovative teaching methods: Cognitive behavioral modification in times of strong change, Leadership and team building to face complex and problematic situations, developing motivation for change, assertiveness, stress, health and psychosomatic illnesses, organizational change and the development of a motivational organization environment, empowerment processes in changing companies, Positive Psychology and Positive Leadership.

She created and managed (from 1992 to 2003) the Center for teaching and learning of Bocconi University professors and students. As a psychologist and psychotherapist, she has carried out research, training and therapy in Italy and abroad on health and stress issues for which she received an honor from the Register of Psychologists. Her interest is aimed at people (managers, doctors, athletes) who have to produce high performance in times of high stress, such as athletes before the Olympics.

Author of numerous publications on the topics of assertiveness, leadership and management of people in times of corporate crisis or personal difficulty, invited speaker to more than 300 national and international conferences. Member of the Advisory Board Wellbusiness, Luxembourg since 2017, Member in steering committees of two international associations of psychologists and physicians and founding member of the AIAMC Italian association that since 1978 develops psychotherapists  of which she is a lecturer and supervisor..

Registered Psychologist specialized in Behavior Modification at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, USA, with training periods and collaboration with institutions in Germany, England and Canada and US.

Xavier Oliver


Professor at IESE Business School, at the ISEM Fashion Business School, and in the Faculties of Communication and Economics at the University of Navarra.

Prof. Oliver completed IESE’s Program for Management Development in 1979, the Strategic Marketing Management Program at Harvard University in 1985 and the Senior Management Program (SMP) Omnicom University, Babson, Mass. EEUU (2005/2006). He earned his Ph.D. in Advertising from the University of Navarra.

His career started off at the United Nations in 1974, when he conducted a study on emergency situations in the Middle East. He also worked for the World Council of Churches (Jerusalem, 1975) and the World Health Organization (Copenhagen, 1975).

He has been Chairman and CEO of BBDO Spain, a holding company with 1,200 employees and 13 commercial communications companies. He has been a member of the board of directors of BBDO Worldwide and BBDO Europe for 24 years. He created and for a number of years managed BBDO University, a corporate university with four campuses worldwide. After 32 years of service, he left BBDO to devote himself to teaching and his winery and consultancy.

Previously, he held the positions of president of the European Advertising Agencies Association – EAAA – (1999-2000) and the Asociación Española de Agencias de Publicidad – AEAP – (1990-1994). He has also been a member of the jury at numerous prestigious advertising and film festivals such as SAWA (Cannes, 1984), FIAP (Brazil, 1985) and the New York Festivals (1988). He was a founding member, advisor and jury member of the Asociación de Autocontrol de la Publicidad (Advertising Self-Regulatory Body). He was the founder and the director (from 1986 to 1996) of El Sol, the festival of advertising.

Prof. Oliver has written and contributed to books published by the United Nations and IESE Business School, such as (1997) and Ethics in Marketing and Publicity (1998). His last three books are: “Publicidad: no thank you!”, “Atrapados por el consumo” and “Marcas que sueñan. Solo las empresas que sueñan sobresalen”. At IESE, he has developed various cases in the areas of marketing and strategic branding.

Yih-teen Lee


Yih-teen Lee is full Professor in the Department of Managing People in Organizations, IESE Business School. He specializes in leadership, fit, and cultural bridging in his roles as educator, researcher, and consultant.  

Raised in Asia, Yih-teen has been living and working in Europe for 20 years, and identifies himself as a multicultural global citizen. He is fluent in Chinese, English, French, and Spanish, and has delivered training programs and seminars to senior executives in all four languages. At IESE, Yih-teen teaches leadership, leading global collaboration, leading multicultural teams, and people strategy in the MBA and executive programs. He is heavily involved in custom programs for organizations such as Swire, L’Oréal, Nestlé, Shiseido, Henkel, Nissan, Rijk Zwaan, Mapfre, Schneider Electrics, UPS, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and UNICEF, among others. He is also active in providing consulting services for companies such as Haier, Deloitte, Dow Chemical, Rakuten, and Syngenta in their effort to strengthen leadership and navigate global culture.

His research appears in leading scientific journals such as Journal of Management, Personnel Psychology, and Academy of Management Discoveries. He has contributed to books such as the Handbook of Industrial, Work, and Organizational Psychology, The Handbook of Chinese Organizational Behavior, Leadership Development in a Global World, and The Routledge Companion to International Human Resource Management. He serves at the Editorial Board of Journal of Management, Journal of World Business, and Advances in Global Leadership.

Yih-teen earned his Ph.D. from HEC, University of Lausanne, Switzerland, and his bachelor and master degree from National Taiwan University. Currently he splits his life between Barcelona and Paris, two of the most charming cities in Europe.

Jeremy Ghez


Affiliate Professor of Economics and International Affairs at HEC Paris. He’s the scientific director of the Sustainable and Social Innovation (SASI) Master’s program. He is also the Academic Director of the school’s Center for Geopolitics. His research focuses on the United States, on tech giants and on populism. His work has been published in RAND manuscripts and in reviews such as Survival.

Jeremy is also a former Research Fellow at RAND Europe and the former Editor of La Nouvelle Revue Géopolitique, a French quarterly.

At HEC, Jeremy teaches economics and business environment in the Grande Ecole, MBA and EMBA programs. Jeremy received a Master’s in Business from HEC Paris, a Master’s in Economics from the Paris School of Economics, and a PhD from the Pardee RAND Graduate School.
